DCPE SP wins NJRC Gold for Best Robot Performance (Tertiary)

Our students have done it again!

After much hard work and nights of preparation, four teams entered the NJRC (Tertiary) competing against 48 teams from other Polytechnics, ITEs and Junior Colleges.

All four teams qualified for the finals held on the 9th Sept at the Science Centre. The hard work and strategies worked with team E3xcite winning the Gold for Best Robot Performance (Tertiary Category).

All robots were built using Lego NXT and programmed using RoboLab/NxT/LabView. The robot had to carry and drop blocks at designated locations as well as lift (without pushing/dragging) blocks and move them to their home positions.

Final Signage for SPE3C3 up!!!

The final signage for SPE3C3 is up, you can view it at T932. Keeping up with the development, our vendors are in the final stages and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) is currently being conducted. User Acceptance Testing is an important stage to the completion of a project. This is where the user tests the implementation to ensure that the project meets our specified targets. This is a "tough" time for the vendors who have to ensure the compliance with the specifications.

BTW do you know what SPE3C3 stands for?

Learning + CIP with National Parks, Pulau Ubin

As part of the Learning+ Program, students from DCPE 2A02 enjoyed an afternoon out with National Parks. They learnt how important it is to do a little to help the environment and our world heal itself. It takes as least 20 years before a secondary forest can take hold, even when there is help. Every little bit counts!
Besides the work, it was a very nice afternoon out from the worry, hustle and bustle of Singapore!

Watch out for the next Learning+ CIP and come and experience it for yourself.
